岩手・増える禁煙タクシー、会社も試行錯誤
増える禁煙タクシー 会社は顧客満足で試行錯誤＝岩手◆女性客の反応は良好 一般車指名の愛煙家も
禁煙タクシーが県内で増えている。「車内がたばこ臭い」「煙たい」といった嫌煙家の声に応えた動きで、運転手はもちろん、乗客にもたばこを遠慮してもらう。紫煙を嫌う女性やお年寄りの需要掘り起こしも狙っているようだ。
県内のタクシーはざっと二千七百台を数えるが、これまで禁煙車は数台の規模とみられ、東北の他県と比べると遅れていた。それでも今月に入って、禁煙車を取り入れる会社が続いた。
水沢市の「北都交通」は今月一日から、全九十三台のうち十台を禁煙にした。「禁煙車」の表示灯やステッカーが目印で、原則、たばこを吸わない運転手がハンドルを握る。
「喫煙客とのトラブルが心配」といった意見もあったが、始めてみると喫煙客も乗車前にたばこを消してくれるなど協力的だった。同社の石川豊専務は「たばこ絡みの苦情は以前から寄せられていたので、禁煙車の需要はある。浸透すれば当社への指名も増える」と期待する。
盛岡市の「都南交通」も今月、三台を禁煙にした。三月からは全十五台に拡大する。同社は「女性の反応がいい。更なる需要を見越し、（禁煙タクシーの）イメージを定着させたい」と話す。
一関市の「アイタクシー」は既に昨年五月から五台の禁煙車を走らせているが、それを知って、最近はたばこが吸える一般車の配車を望む喫煙客も出てきた。当面、禁煙車の増車の予定はない。「顧客満足が第一だけに、喫煙客の声も無視はできない」という。
二〇〇三年五月、他人のたばこの煙による受動喫煙の防止などをうたった「健康増進法」が施行された。タクシーも「多数の者が利用する施設」の一つに入ったため、防止措置を求められた。
これをきっかけに全国的に禁煙タクシーの導入が進んだ。県タクシー協会の佐藤利樹専務理事は「禁煙タクシーは時代の流れでもあり、もっと増えるだろう。今後どんなサービスを展開するか、事業者の工夫が注目される」と話している。

最近、禁煙タクシーを目にすることが増えてきました。無線営業が多い地域では、確かに「禁煙」は他社との差別化を図れそうです。他方、特に流し営業が主体の場合は、煙草を吸いたいお客様からは敬遠されてしまうわけで……。
こちらは、都内で全車両（３５両）禁煙を謳い営業する大森交通。昨年夏に全車両禁煙を宣言して以来、各種メディアでその取り組みが紹介されています。
